I suppose a first post is in order. Muddy Prose Mail Club is still under construction with many things needing tending, and I’ve probably launched her too soon, but I hope you’ll take an opportunity to look at what’s coming, and subscribe so you can stay in the loop.
My name is Mandy Olivieri, and I’m an indie author and potter who found out about snail mail clubs and knew I needed to create one! I don’t have a very big following, I’m not up on ways to post so that thousands of people watch, and I am not skilled in web design…
So then I thought, maybe others are in the same boat. Why does it seem like everything you view on ‘how to do what you love and earn money’ gives too much fluff and not enough stuff that’s usable? Anyway, I won’t go on a tangent, as I’m sure you’ve already had numerous thoughts on it yourself. I’d just like to share this experience of starting a mail club, perhaps in real time.
My current work in progress novel, Fate, asks the question, “What if your life was no longer accounted for?” The research I do stays with me – not that I claim to understand it – and the writer in me needs an outlet to share what I’m learning, testing, and experiencing. That’s my ambition behind Muddy Prose Mail Club.
I’m not known for being overly serious. I can be sweary, but will try to remember to use abbreviations or code words. I try not to be on FB, but have an author site: Mandy Olivieri, and a web page where I sell some of my pottery and paperback copies of the books I’ve written: muddyprose.com.
