About Muddy Prose Mail Club

I’m Mandy, an author and potter who believes life feels best when explored with an open curious mind, and soulful appreciation for each transformation we encounter. I’m interested in questions like, ‘Are we living by accident, or are we returning to fulfill what our souls came here to learn?’ I believe in aliens, but a friend of mine asked, ‘If aliens are real and have such amazing technology, why do they still travel in the same 1950’s saucer?’ That could be fun to explore!

The name Muddy Prose refers to my two favorite creative worlds: muddy hands from the pottery wheel and prose from the writing desk.

So, from my corner of Western North Carolina, I send letters filled with stories, art, nature, personal reflections, thoughts and ideas on folklore, alchemy, and curiosities of this life and beyond.

Yearly mail club members also receive a small handmade pottery on their birthday month.

Various ranges of topics/interests: Nature. Art. Mysticism. Vintage. Ghosts. Aliens. UFO’s. Occult. Literature. Poetry. Pesonal Journey. Being an author. Empowerment. Shadow work. Wounds. Raw. Lifestyle. Women. More!

Meet the Muddy Crew

Me and a small handful of the folks working behind the scenes.

Mandy Olivieri

Creator of Muddy Prose Mail Club

Author and potter, fueled by a passion for expression, exploration, and sharing.

Buster

Head Cat. Formally feral. Dog boss.

Forest-wandering collaborator, and my biggest protector, he gathers mossy textures, field notes, and river myths for each mailing.

Smokey

Chief Lap Warmer

Smokey supervises envelopes, chases stray washi tape, and approves only the crinkliest paper. He also stares into your face and makes biscuits the moment you do anything on the computer.

…he’s probably doing it right now.

Rickie Bobby

Queen Office Coordinator

Rickie Bobby is the office coordinator and head B. She answers phones, demands treats several times a day, and is learning to face her Roomba fears. Hiney bites is her love language.

Lucy

Night Shift Supervisor & Site Icon

Lucy guards drying ink, tests cardboard boxes, and reminds me to give treats when Rickie Bobby is sleeping. Lightning bugs & brown packing paper are by far the most amazing things on the planet.

Ralph the Neighbor’s Dog

Chicken Protector

Meet Ralph, the neighbor’s dog and self-appointed Head of Chicken Coop Security.

After a long night of whatever it is Ralph does when he’s not here, he reports to my house each morning (sometimes before the sun comes up) to occupy the couch or bed and spend the day twitching, woofing, and reliving the previous night’s adventures in his dreams. Though large enough to ignore others and get away with it, he remains firmly under Buster’s authority, obeying his important rules such as, “Don’t touch my m/f food.”

He’s a very good boy and takes all of his jobs seriously.
